Prof. Dr. phil. Robert Jütte

Biographical note
Robert Jütte was born in Warstein, Westphalia, in 1954. He studied History, German Language and Literature and Political Science in Marburg, London and Münster. Doctorate (Dr. phil.) from the University of Münster in 1982, Habilitation [advanced research degree] at the University of Bielefeld in 1990 (university teaching qualification in Modern History). From 1983-1989, lecturer and subsequently Professor of Modern History at the University of Haifa, Israel. Since 1990, Director of the Institute for the History of Medicine of the Robert Bosch Foundation and simultaneously Honorary Professor at the University of Stuttgart since 1991. 
Main research interests: Social history of medicine; history of science; urban history; history of everyday life and cultural history of early modern times; Jewish history.
