Doctoral project: Nursing in National Socialist wartime society 1939-1945 (Klaus Brühne, M.A.)
Klaus Brühne, M. A.
One of the aspects of the history of the Second World War still requiring investigation is the significance of civilian nursing for wartime society. The field of nursing, dominated at that time by nurses belonging to denominational sisterhoods, is examined from various points of view. On the basis of the conditions of the political and military administration and of the quantitative circumstances, the changes that took place as a result of the war to the places, organisational forms and environments of nursing are investigated using examples.
