The Medical Journals of Hahnemann
The estate of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, forms the core of the IGM's homeopathy archive. The transcription and editing of the preserved patient journals began as early as the 1960s.
The IGM continued its efforts to publish the edition from 1991 onwards. However, the critical complete edition, which was initially published by K. F. Haug-Verlag, Heidelberg, is no longer up to date in print form, and the individual volumes are now only available second-hand. Only D19 ist avaiable via the publisher KVC .
It was therefore decided to transfer the existing efforts to prepare the patient journals in the form of an edition from print to digital. This should not only improve availability but also reduce the strain on the journals' use.
Building on a pilot project completed in 2020 to digitise Hahnemann's manuscripts, using the German-French journal DF 5 as an example, the journals that have already been transcribed will be made available in a digital critical edition, and further journals will also be made accessible.
