Publications of the Institute
The IGM publishes data from four different perspectives. These include:
- Medizin, Gesellschaft und Geschichte (MedGG):
„Medicine, Society and History“ (MedGG) sees itself as the IGM's publication organ, in which articles on its main topics are published. Based on the archives it maintains, these primarily include essays on the history of alternative healing methods, especially homeopathy, as well as on the social history of medicine in general. Articles can be submitted throughout the year and are subject to peer review.
- Supplement Series to the MedGG-Series:
The supplements to this journal include essay collections and monographs that are interdisciplinary in nature and primarily deal with topics from the social history of medicine.
- Medical Journals:
The estate of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, forms the core of the IGM's homeopathy archive. Work on transcribing and editing the surviving patient journals began back in the 1960s. The IGM continued its efforts to publish the edition from 1991 onwards to make the medical journals accessible as a digital critical edition.
- Sources and Studies on the History of Homeopathy:
The IGM publishes a scientific series featuring outstanding monographs, source collections and dissertations on the history of homeopathy.
